Endings

I have mixed feelings about endings. I love the sense of accomplishment that comes when you arrive at the final page of a book, hand over the last exam of the semester, or push "send" on an important e-mail. But accomplishment come with a sense of sorrow too, because the task is done. Over. Never to be experienced again, just remembered.

In thirty days, two important experiences in my life will come to an end. In thirty days, we will close our front door for the last time. We will say goodbye to Brooklyn and board an airplane bound for the West. Also in thirty days, I will post for the final time on this blog, because the era of the Henry Street Burrow will be over.

But we'll go out with a bang, not a whimper. Over the next thirty days, I will daily catalog on this blog some of the things I'll miss most about New York City. Think of it as my eulogy to this home of fifteen months.

sigh. good things must come to an end...but could this end be a new beginning? will we see arizona chronicles? what of the adventures of evangeline? must your readership be forced into emailing you for updates and snippets of the continued story? actually, i guess that wouldn't be such a bad thing... i digress. what ought we expect next?

yes, what will your Arizona chapters of life this spring and summer be called? There are prairie dog burrows in the desert . . .

I'm not sure what's next. I'm getting involved behind-the-scenes with two other blogs, but praying about whether I should keep a personal blog.

What?! Just because you move the metaphorical Burrow can't live on? Is the Burrow really just an address or is it a place in your heart as well?

How sad...I've loved your blog but I realize your life is definitely going to be changing and going on to other things, another street name, etc! Glad I could be a part of this blog for some of its run!:)
